KOH SAMUI HASH HOUSE HARRIERS

HARE : NO WOMAN NO CRIVE

Once again the Hash site is in the north of the island. Up the road past big Buddha and turn at the 7 Eleven.

There are about 40 people again this week, walkers and runners of all shapes and sizes.

However some of the normally more dedicated hashers have a different hash this week and are to be found at Ban Taling Nam Resort on the south of the island.

There are a group of very lovely orphans on the island from Bangkok. Their ages varied from about 4 to 14. Today is their sports day.

Wibbly Wobbly and Bagpipes showed them all how to do the three legged race, without falling over, so no hash crash for them.

Dipstick showed one of the younger competitors how to cheat. There was a race from point A to B and back again. Dipstick picked up the tiniest cutest little girl and ran with her in the race. He still got beat by a little boy no more than 8 years old, but a good effort from the youngest and the oldest!!!!

The next race was the egg and spoon race. The kids did brilliantly at this, maybe a little cheating here and there but who noticed.

Nigel laid on a brilliant BBQ for everyone. The boys let the girls go first for the food and they all sat quietly at the tables waiting for everyone to be served before they started to eat.

The Samui Pirates were there as well. The kids loved it, they all got sitting on the big impressive shiny bikes and had their photos taken. Then they all go a treat of going for a ride on the big machines. With lots of them shouting go faster, go faster. The Pirates were great with them, big softies really.

Wallace and Gromet have to be thanked for being such fantastic organisers and giving to much of their time and effort to this weekend.

Meanwhile back up at the other hash someone got lost. One farang male and two Thai ladies, hmmmm!!

They finally phoned in and had to be picked up.
This caused a great delay in the start of the circle.

For those dedicated hashers on the south of the island this was a real pain and messed up their plan to bug the GM and make their presence felt.

There were several phones in use at the same time trying to catch them all in the circle with their phones ringing, but alas to no avail. Better luck next time.

The circle ended, in the north, after the usual sinners etc had paid their dues and all went off on their own ways.

Meanwhile in the southern hash we were waiting for the children, due to perform for the guests of the hotel.

Excellent show, there was a Traditional Thai dance from the older girls and the younger girls did a little modern dance, then the boys gave a karate show. Well done kids, hope you all had as much fun as we did.

Anyone interested in sponsoring one or more children from the orphanage should contact Adele for more information. It really is a good cause.

We have never seen 31 children in one group behave themselves so well, they are well cared for and all have happy little faces.

RED MULLET announced the next hash will be a live hare, ten minute start. Let’s do our best and catch him.
