HASH COMMITTEE MEETING
Tuesday 18 October 2011
Present: Blue lugs, Bogtrotter, Dipstick, Wibbly wobbly, I’m cumin, W C Fields, SOS, Slim poussie, Slim, Comic strip, Strolling Bones, No name bob, Bagpipes, Corkscrew, Red Mullet, Feral flaps, Seaman stains, Forest dump.
Hash cash. There is currently 110,849 Baht in the coffers with no outstanding bills. Corkscrew could tell us the balance from the same period last year, looking good.
Australian visitors. This meeting was called, mainly to discuss the upcoming visitors from Australia this Saturday.
It was asked who the hare is, we have to give them a decent run. This will be No 27 assisted by Bogtrotter. Apparently this is okay.
Next subject was what kind of food will be put on at the Red Fox. It was asked why we had to put on special food for them.
After a bit of discussion it was agreed that Blue lugs and SoS would take care of the food. Blue lugs doing food along the lines of Prawns, Curry, pork, rice, coleslaw, potato salad etc and SoS will be in charge of the Thai food.
Hash cash will provide 3,000 Baht.
How much is the registration fee for visitors? It will be the same as always, 100 Baht.
Transport to and from the Red Fox. Blue lugs will order a couple of Song taos as there will be too many visitors for the normal wagons to take.
Web page.
Once again the question of the web page was raised and why the photos are not updated. The scribe told the meeting of her attempts to get the web master to post these.
Red mullet then continued to ponder the question of the web master. I’m cumin point out that this was a waste of time, the subject has been discussed already and there was no point in further discussion unless a solution was forthcoming and the subject should be dropped until then.
Feral flaps said he had never had a problem with the web master, current scribe does not have a problem getting directions and run scribe on the web either but the photos appear to be a problem.
The circle
There were, comments that the circle is boring, it is too long, it is too short, the format is different. Visitors should be welcomed first and not forgotten about. There should be more involvement of new members. New people are not returning, some people, previously hashers have been seen on the island but are not coming to the hash. The numbers are down.
What can the GM say about this????
Stats
Where are the stats they have not been seen for months. The scribe brings the stats to the meeting, with exception of the last meeting when they were forgotten. Otherwise they are in the folder every week at the hash. They are updated every fourth week.
There was a lot of discussion as to why it is still the same people doing the same jobs.
Red mullet then started what ended up being a heated discussion as to the piss truck, stating that, Corkscrew has been doing this for ten years, someone else should take a turn of doing it. Why did it have to be for one year, anyone with a truck could volunteer to do it for three months
At the end of the whole debacle Slim volunteered to take over the piss truck for the next three months and then volunteering Seaman stains to take the next three.
One ‘experienced’ hasher was heard to mutter. Blimey what is the big deal it is only a Saturday run.
No other points raised meeting closed with thanks to Forest dump and wife and staff for the lovely spread.
ON ON
At this point scribe realises when doing a sort on the stats the numbers columns were messed up. Stats will be redone in the next day or so and will be available at the next hash.
Conclusion
The hash cash is healthy
The stats are not accurate or available
The scribe cannot communicate with the web master
The GM and the assistant GM do not know how to run the circle and are boring
